Vijaya Institute of technology for Women (VITW) is a nonprofit organization established under the umbrella of SRK Foundation in 2008. The institution was carved out of the benign vision of eminent educationist and industrialist, Sri B. S. Appa Rao, who desired of providing quality education to the rural, semi urban and urban students. The institution is located on the National Highway 5 in the city of Vijayawada, also known as cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh, on the banks of river Krishna. Its location makes it one of the most accessible colleges in the city.
The institution is located in an area of 4 acres with 17,824 sq.mts of built up area. The institution is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Government of Andhra Pradesh. The institution is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada
It is also certified by ISO 9001-2015. The institution started student admissions in 4 UG programmes viz: ECE, EEE, CSE and IT branches. Today, the institution offers 6 UG programmes with a sanctioned intake of 420 students. The institution is offering 2 new UG programmes called Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Data Science, AI&ML started in the academic year 2020-21 and Data Science in CSE from the academic year 2022-2023 onwards.
The institution offers one PG program - MBA Masters in Business Administration. The institute has well qualified and experienced faculty. The faculty is encouraged to update their knowledge and pursue higher degrees. The institute provides requisite facilities and infrastructure for students and staff. The institution has strong industry-academia collaborations in the form of MoU's with the organizations like APSSDC (Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation), EDU Skills, Infosys Spring Board, and ICT Academy and with other reputed Academic Institutions and Industries for sharing socio- technical and cultural programmes and knowledge.
